One of the biggest hard time you get with your PC is virus. There are lots of way to be get infected with virus. Sometimes people don't understand that his/her pc is infected with virus, but gradually is his/her PC or documents are destroying. Here are the few tips to determine your PC is infected with virus or not:
- First check that your task manager is disabled or not. Press crtl+ alt+del or right click on task bar if task manager doesn't appear then it is one of the sign of being infected.
- If registry editor is disabled - to understand this click on star menu and click run type 'regedit' if registry editor doesn't appears then there is possible chance that you PC is infected .
- If command prompt is disabled- type 'cmd' , idf command prompt doesn't appear then PC is infected.
- If there is no search option in start menu ( Windows XP)
- If there is no program is running or no background program is running but cpu usage is more than 5% then there is a chance to be infected , to check this press crtl+alt+del , click performance tab in the task manager, look at the bottom of the task manager window for cpu usage.
- If your hard drives or pen drive dont open after double clicking.
- If open is seen in second place and weird things are seen in first place when you click right mouse on computer drives or pen drive.
- If PC shutting down automatically.
- If PC restarts simultaneously of his own.
- Takes long time to startup and shut down.
- When attempt to run a program , it takes long time to execute.
- Check that Folder options are present- got to my computer click tools menu look for folder options.
- Check that hidden files & folders option are present and working properly.
- When computer starts up it opens up with C:\windows or, C:\my documents.
- If there are no lots of programs installed but it shows drive C:\ full.
- PC hangs more frequently.
- If any message says to install certain antivirus program.
- Don't allow you to install any antivirus program.
- Shows log in option when PC starts up , but don't start up when you login.
- Shows any icon that doesn't belong to any program.
