Know How To Configure EDGE/GPRS in Mobile (BD)

In recent days using internet in mobile phone is becoming very popular, but most of the people don't know how to configure internet setting (EDGE/ GPRS) in mobile phone. So , this is post is about to give them a hand. Here we go:

           

Grameen Phone EDGE Settings-

First of all, You have to register "EDGE" via sending sms.

Type EDGE<space>P1 and send to--> 5000
example: EDGE P1 and send-->5000

After registration set your configuration below Manually or automatically.

Manual Configuration:

GP WAP Setting:
Connection/Profile: GP-WAP
APN(Access Point Name): gpwap
IP: 010.128.001.002
Port: 8080
homepage: http://wap.gpworld.com

GP MMS Setting:
Connection/Profile: GP-MMS
APN(Access Point Name): gpmms
IP: 010.128.001.002
Port: 8080
homepage: http://mms.gpsurf.net/servlets/mms

GP INTERNET Setting:
Connection/Profile: GP-INTERNET
APN(Access Point Name): gpinternet
IP: 010.128.001.002
Port: 8080
homepage: http://gpworld.com


Automatic Configuration:

WAP Setting:
type <wap> space <handset name> space <handset model> and send to-->8080
example: wap nokia 3220 and send-->8080

MMS Setting:
type <mms> space <handset name> space <handset model> and send to-->8080
example: mms nokia N70 and send-->8080

INTERNET Setting:
type <internet> space <handset name> space <handset model> and send to-->8080
example: internet nokia N90 and send-->8080

After sending sms you will get EDGE settings within short time, save the settings using code 1234.

example: WAP xxxxxxxx and send-->8738

MMS Setting:
type <MMS> space <first 8 digit IM number> and send to-->8738
example: MMS xxxxxxxx and send-->8738

INTERNET Setting:
type <WEB> space <first 8 digit IM number> and send to-->8738
example: WEB xxxxxxxx and send-->8738

(For getting IM number Dial *#06#)

For limited or unlimited internet activation you have to send a sms.

For limited:
type "reg" and send to--> 111

For unlimited:
type "unl" and send to--> 111

After activation, configure your handset below this system...

For unlimited internet configuration setting:

Most of the time Airtel send Internet settings when you insert airtel sim and switch on the mobile.
